Diver - Marble - 2018/2020 45 x 33 x 28 cm €9,600

This sculpture was first exhibited in the RHA annual in 2018. In 2020 during the Covid 19 Lockdown, I withdrew from a studio 12 km away from my home back to my home as a place to also work. During this time I returned to many past works and placed them once again upon the banker. My return to one such piece was 17 years later. A time that I’ve enjoyed. This piece, Diver, I released from the caution which I left it with when I last worked on it. I’ve since removed the bulk of marble that remained, from around its feet and hands and defined both in the round. I’ve also, for the most part, removed the epoxy sand and pigment representation of a swimming cozzie.
